California Wrap Up

The last day of vacation is always bittersweet. I’m always so thankful for the time off but wonder how it is that it NEVER seems long enough?!
We spent the last day of our vacation in Temecula, staying with Darlene’s parents (Wayne & Diane). We woke up early but leisurely, like we did every morning we stayed with them. It was so nice to wake up in a home rather than a hotel! ♥ We formed somewhat of a routine…I would wake up with Jude and Joel and head downstairs to start making our breakfast. Jon was usually 10-15 minutes behind us in getting out of bed. Once he was downstairs, we would put the boys in their swimsuits and then go out to the beautiful back patio to watch for hot air balloons to fly over the house while we ate and then the boys would swim for a little bit until the rest of the house woke up.

We left our schedule pretty open for our last day. Wayne and Diane were so kind to insist on watching Jude & Joel for us while we visited a couple local wineries with Bob and Darlene. The Temecula wineries were much lower key than the wineries we have visited in Napa, which Jon preferred, but still VERY pretty. We stopped at Wilson Creek Winery first and ended with Falkner Winery. We had a great time enjoying some different California wines, the nice weather and having some one on one time to visit with Bob and Dar.

"Don't mind if we do?!"

After finishing up at the wineries, we were hungry so decided to head back to the Robetcky’s to check on the boys and eat. Wayne and Diane had the boys down for naps (Praise God!) so we were able to come in and relax a bit. before they were awake to greet us! The Robetcky's had some family friends over to celebrate the 4th of July with and they had a huge spread of food out!

The boys woke up within an hour of us getting back and we all ate til’ we were stuffed! We all just hung out visiting with each other until fireworks started going off just over the back patio about 9:15. The boys were champs! They powered thru with good attitudes until after the fireworks show was over!

Off to bed to get ready for the trip home….we thanked God for our blessings and the Robetcky family that night before falling asleep. I’m so grateful we are blessed to know them and for all the love they showered on us during our stay! I hope we can one day return the favor and show them around Fort Worth!
