I love my Crock Pot!

So...I joined the Facebook page "Crock Pot Girls" late last week. There were like 90,000 fans or so, which was impressive being such a new page. Today, I look on the wall to get some ideas for dinner and woah! There's 673,310 fans! I'm thinking I'm not the only one that loves my crock pot, haha! What a neat idea tho! In today's world of busy chaotic days, it's so nice to have other women (& men) sharing their go-to saving grace easy recipes!

Recipe I made last week that my fam and guests LOVED:

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
Ingredients:
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) can chili beans
1 (15 ounce) can black beans
1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
2 (10 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning
3 whole skinless, boneless chicken breasts
shredded Cheddar cheese (optional)
sour cream (optional)
crushed tortilla chips (optional)

Directions: Place the onion, chili beans, black beans, corn, tomato sauce, beer, and diced tomatoes in a slow cooker. Add taco seasoning, and stir to blend. Lay chicken breasts on top of the mixture, pressing down slightly until just covered by the other ingredients. Set slow cooker for low heat, cover, and cook for 5 hours.
Remove chicken breasts from the soup, and allow to cool long enough to be handled. Stir the shredded chicken back into the soup, and continue cooking for 2 hours. Serve topped with shredded Cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips, if desired.

Here's some recipes I'm hoping to try out on my boys in upcoming weeks:

There are just so many! I won't post anymore for now til' after I cook/try some more out! My next step is looking up healthier meals that I can make in my crock pot! It's so hard to come home from work and want to eat something healthy like veggies or a salad some days then make something seperate for your kiddos. I bet there are recipes for yummy lower fat meals that can be ready when you walk in that everyone will enjoy! :)
